Congratulations to Richard (1st)

I started a post here on Wednesday morning, was interrupted, evidently didn't save it and then forgot all about it. So it goes.

15 Dec was a members' night. We looked at the Flatlay Challenge images, some of which I think were rather good. Richard's got mmy vote as the closest to (what I understand to be) a proper flatlay image. Amazing what you can do with just two eggs. I also liked the Jewellery one for the quality of light. There was some discussion of whether a bird's eye view and a flatlay pic were the same thing. I don't see why not. Andy's field of cabbages was a drone shot, but from that height cabbages look pretty two dimensional. It's all fun anyway.

There were some slow broadband hitches with Alison's connection , but the carrots were worth waiting for. ("Indescribable"- Alan Titchmarsh, "Use less manure!" - Harry Paton).

Derek got stuck in a meeting, so we will see his images after New Year.

Crowds reeled, amazed at my "Toenail clipping" video and we grumbled about some of the 17 and above images from this year's SPF DVD. Of course we could do better. We just don't want to push the standard out of the reach of the rest...

Next Tuesday is the quiz. Bring a sheet of paper, pencil, log tables, Depth-of-field calculator and a glass of something seasonal.
