https://www.laynekennedy.com/portfolio/G0000GG0mqReDuag/I000030Zr0NcDWoY, from no. 32 on, has some clichéd Scottish subjects but also proof of a remarkable ability to find compositions that are very far from clichés even though the subjects and locations might seem done to death already.  The view of Eilean Donan Castle is a cracker, and Layne Kennedy has found some very unusual compositions from popular Edinburgh viewpoints especially Calton Hill.  He should take a photographic trip to Glencoe and Torridon some time.

I had to take the car yesterday for an all-day service at Newcraighall so took the 30 bus to the commonwealth Pool for a walk around the mansions of the Grange and then in the scenic Hermitage of Braid and Blackford Pond.  Those who didn’t see much wildlife on the outing on Tuesday evening might like to note that on the north side of Blackford Pond, in a narrow space between the water and the railings bounding the path, a family of two swans and their cygnets have made their nest.

Bill

Thanks Bill ! You're right, and it's interesting to see some familiar places photographed through a visitor's lens.

Bill mentions our Tuesday evening outings - next one is to Cove, East Lothian on Tuesday 16th July - https://testhaddingtoncameraclub.org.uk/Summer2024/
