P.A.C.C have negotiated a broadband wifi setup in the Poldrate building , with Lothian Broadband. We are sharing the costs. That is now active. We have tested the setup and it works adequately with Zoom. So it is possible to hold hybrid meetings, with some people physically in floor three and others joining in from home. We don't anticipate more than a handful of people meeting there yet, but for anyone who cannot use Zoom , it will be possible to attend in real life if you want. All Covid rules will apply and we will try to maintain distancing. There will be no £2 meeting charge . No tea and biccies, either.

Given the ongoing (and fluid!) Covid situation, we will continue on "Zoom" until the end of the Christmas session, returning to Poldrate full time in January - or earlier if circumstances permit. This is flexible and depends how events work out. We may manage hybrid meetings with some people in Poldrate, others at home. As we found this past year, there are advantages to both. "Zoom" isn't expensive and the club biscuit bill has fallen drastically.

For anyone not already on our member list, who would like to join, or at least think about it for a meeting or two, you will need to be invited to join the Zoom meeting. The easy way to do that is to contact a member, either using the CONTACT US form on this website, or through the Facebook ( https://www.facebook.com/haddingtoncameraclub/) or Twitter pages, (Twitter@ClubHaddington) or personal contact if you know someone who is a member. More on this here- https://testhaddingtoncameraclub.org.uk/our-premises/

If you already contacted the website seeking information, you will be emailed the login info a few days before 7 Sept. No need to ask again.

Competitions and judges are in place-ish, also external speakers. We will repeat the "5 favourite photos" feature and try a "Favourite photo location" feature for members to present, so get thinking. Any members willing to do a longer presentation, from 15 minutes up to 90, please get in touch with Grace or Paul.

While floor 3 is a big room, there is only an area of approx. 6 x 7 metres where people can sit and see the screen clearly. At one metre separation, that would just about permit 25-30 seats. At 2 metres that drops to about 10-12. We hope all such spacing will now stay a thing of the past but we are aware many people will be leery of "normal" spacing for a while yet. The idea is to ensure everyone is comfortable . It is possible that later in the year broadband access in Poldrate itself may allow hybrid meetings, with some people attending in Poldrate and others participating at home- but that's a way off yet.
