WELCOME TO HADDINGTON CAMERA CLUB If you would like to become a member or need further details please either fill in the Application for Membership Form or email the treasurer@haddingtoncameraclub.org.uk and you will be emailed a link to our zoom meetings. Further information about how to work zoom can be found below. There's a cartoon by Shel Silverstein featuring two prisoners, beards a foot long, manacled to the dungeon floor and wall. One of them is saying "Now here's my plan..." With luck and perhaps a vaccine, we may be able to meet up in real life later in the session, but for now, the plan is to hold online meetings using Zoom software. You may already have used Zoom to talk to grandweans in Oz or similar. If you have no idea what Zoom is, there are instructions below explaining how to download, install and use it. To use any online conference software like Zoom, you need a device with a microphone and a web camera. If you have a webcam and microphone for a computer that's great. If not, you probably do have a smartphone- and even quite basic smartphones have a microphone and a camera. Zoom runs on phones, though the small screen may be a problem. Until we can meet in person, there will obviously be no £2 per week cost. The proposal is that annual membership will be a flat £20 for everyone for this year only. (Subject to approval at the AGM ). Click the link for full details of how to pay. A lot of work has gone in to produce a syllabus that can be achieved either "virtually" or in the "real" world. Particularly, competition categories will be simplified and judges have been found who are willing to judge online competitions. Speakers have agreed to talk online. It won't be the same as sitting in floor three , fighting for the seat by the heater, but it may turn out to have advantages. For a start, you can have as many biscuits as you like. There's no question we will have technical problems, but please bear with us. Like the man in the cartoon, we can get out of this mess and move on. Please hang in there. You can join a Zoom meeting by clicking a link in your browser. (We will send the link by email), or by installing the Zoom app itself and logging in via that. Below is what you need to know to use Zoom for HCC meetings . You can print this as a pdf. Meetings will be on Tuesdays at 7:45pm.
The proposed competition list can be found here.
