Colin's page on A/V resources. Be aware this sort of software changes from year to year.
An "A/V" presentation is basically a slideshow with a sound track- either music or commentary. It may include video clips, or the whole thing can be a video movie.
In the past , two slide projectors were used, synchronised with a tape deck.
This was easy if you had six arms. These days, it's even simpler.
Several computer applications can produce the slideshow type of presentation. It can be done using Powerpoint , or the "Openoffice" free equivalent, "Impress". In both cases a sound file is just dragged into the slideshow.
The previously recommended purpose-built application for creating AV slideshows on a PC was Proshow Gold, but this is no longer being supported. There are other alternatives listed below, but the simple and cheap (free) alternative for PCs is Microsoft Photos (which is probably already on your PC as part of Windows 10 or 11).
Download a very short video showing how to get it nearly right. (Hint-Watch where I put the end page. Note- this is a 24MB file which may take a couple of minutes to download, depending how fast your Internet access is.)
There are plenty of articles on the Web on how to use MS Photos to make an audio-visual presentation. See, for example:
