Grace offered her thanks to all those who helped with mounting prints for the Exhibition - 95 prints in all. Next date for your diary - Putting the prints up at St Mary's, 11am, Friday 31stMay.
There was a committee meeting last night, we discussed Summer outings, next season's programme (soon to be finalised and completed), exhibition preparations (hanging sessions, catering, etc), sharing events with other clubs, chair cleaning. The competition programme for next year has already been published. Our camera club has generously been donated a Pentax film camera and lenses - this should provide a basis for (re-)introducing members to the joys of analogue photography, next season.
We have a series of summer outings to look forward to - informal, bring your camera, see what's there, have a chat, whatever - see here - starts 2nd July
From 'Photography Experts, via Earlston Camera Club we have been made aware of the following online events :
"We are pleased to announce new live events with the wonderfully talented Rachael Talibart and equally talented Federico Veronesi. We start with a fabulous COMPLIMENTARY event on the 29th of May, with Federico showcasing his wonderful new collection of images of that most iconic species: the African Elephant. Entitled " Walk the Earth," it will be great for all fans of his work to hear from the man himself, who will guide us through some breathtaking images with his usual skill and enthusiasm. Click Here
On the 2nd of July, that most accomplished photographer and presenter, Rachael Talibart, returns with a brand new presentation: "Shock, awe, and mystery: Photographing the "Sublime." Click Here This is a new event based on Rachael's experience creating beautiful, majestic images that include an element of fear or the thrill of being confronted by something so huge, strange, or different that we may struggle to find a reference point for it in our own experience.
We follow Rachael's event with a very special teaching session on 4th July with Federico holding an intimate and in-depth masterclass on photographing Africa's Megafauna Click Here A comprehensive Q&A session will follow the live events.
Please register even if you cannot attend the live event. All registrants will receive links to the recordings and bonus material from our archives."
We have also been contacted by the RPS Landscape Group as follows
"I am contacting you to tell you about a major photographic conference being held in Fife next year as I thought you might like to let your members know about it. It is a specialist landscape conference which is being organised by the Royal Photographic Society. Everyone is welcome, regardless of whether they are members of the society or not. Attendance can be on a residential or non-residential basis. Lots of great speakers, location shoots and workshops. For details please see https://tinyurl.com/RPSLandscapeConference "
