Restoring old images, photos of Harry, Israel, and Stockport.
The evening started with Alastair showing a selection of great images of Harry, the Guide Dog pup in training that Alastair & Marion had for a year - the challenges they faced, and what happened when Harry didn’t pass his assessment. He is now happily adopted and the final image showed him in his new home on the couch along with another Labrador.
Then Fran took us on a trip to Israel, when she joined her husband on a group trip. An opportunity for many of us to see images from a country we are unlikely to visit today. Photographs of churches, and views of the towns and villages and the wall that has been built running the length of the country.
Lorraine then showed images from a book by Heidi Alexander - The Stockport Collection images taken 1976-1977 - almost 50 years ago - generated lots of discussion, about smart clothes, hats, polished shoes and workplaces! Link to the portfolio here.
Andy B then shared his technique in digitising, old prints, slides, colour negatives and b&w negatives in RAW.
After the tea break, Andy showed us his workflow in Photoshop to then edit these images that he created live! Pretty amazing results.
There were a few of us that were encouraged to maybe try that!
