Audio-Visual (A/V) competition

Entries for this competition should consist of a sequence of still photographic images, or a combination of moving and still images, the majority of such images being the original work of the member, with a synchronised sound track. The use of third-party images, animated graphics, video clips or other visual material should be limited and appropriate to the production.  

How to Create an AV Presentation

The time consuming part of an AV is gathering the images. Putting one together  can be quick and easy- it's basically a slide show with music- though you can fiddle with transitions forever.  The default free app (for Windows users) for AV was Microsoft's Photos app. This has been replaced by "Clip Champ", which has to be downloaded (free) from the Microsoft store, Capcut is another easy to use free application.   iMovie is offered for Mac users.  There are several other video editing programmes such as Final Cut Pro.

Entries may be of any duration up to a limit of approximately 6 minutes running time. The member is responsible for sizing and formatting the sequences(s). The maximum display size is 1600 pixels wide and 1200 pixels high. Each entry must be submitted as a PC-executable or movie file capable of being transferred onto a hard disk drive. A self-running DVD is not acceptable. Check where to send the AV file to.
